Dual-Sealed Glazing
& Weatherization
Structural Silicone & Metal Bead Protection.
Conventional systems rely on aluminum glazing beads and double-sided tape—materials that degrade under UV exposure. Because aluminum and steel expand at different rates, thermal movement creates gaps that destroy the weather seal.
MIW eliminates these failure points. Exterior glass is wet-set using DOWSIL™ 795 structural silicone and secured with a hand-fitted steel glazing bead, establishing an unyielding, dual-sealed weather barrier.

Silicone + Steel Beads
When a metal glazing bead is specified, we mill it from steel and adhere it with our structural silicone system. This exacting process ensures the bead and the main assembly expand and contract as one cohesive unit. Because every component is wet-set, it creates a monolithic, tightly sealed system that maximizes long-term weather resistance.
Engineered to Withstand the Elements
-
Advanced Weatherization: Our systems integrate proven silicone glazing, corrosion engineering with multiple layers of weatherstripping to eliminate environmental risk.
-
Acoustic Dampening: Factory wet-setting bonds the glass directly to the steel profile, significantly dampening acoustic transfer.
-
Reinforced Structural Stability: This monolithic barrier inherently reinforces the structural stability of the entire window or door unit.
