Premium Glazing & Water Management
Many systems in the market rely on aluminum glazing beads attached with clips, with the glass set using double-sided tape. Over time, that tape can degrade under heat and UV exposure. Combined with the fact that aluminum and steel expand and contract at different rates, movement and gaps can develop—creating pathways for air and moisture infiltration through the glazing perimeter and muntin/grid areas.
MIW eliminates these failure points by wet-setting all exterior glass—period—using DOWSIL™ (Dow Corning) 795 structural silicone.
Silicone Seals & Elegant Trim
When a metal glazing bead is specified, MIW mills it from the same steel as the door or window, and adheres it using the same proven silicone system. This slower, more exacting process ensures the bead and the unit expand and contract together as a single assembly, and because everything is wet-set, the result is a sealed, monolithic system that dramatically reduces opportunities for air and moisture intrusion over time.
